The limited-edition V8 hypercar has arrived in production form, priced from approximately $4.1 million.
The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko hypercar has been shown off for the first time in production guise, three years after the reveal of the concept at the 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The first example to roll off the line is finished in a ‘Tang Orange Pearl’ hue, with silver and carbon-fibre highlights on the front ‘grille’ and air intakes. However, ten other standard colours will be available.
Drive comes from a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, sending 1177kW and 1500Nm to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automated multi-clutch transmission (Koenigsegg claims this is the fastest-shifting gearbox ever built).
This drivetrain allows the 0-100km/h sprint to be completed in a claimed 2.6 seconds, on the way to an estimated top speed of 480km/h.
A carbon-fibre monocoque tub helps keep total weight down to 1420kg, while a large two-tier rear wing, front splitter, and under-floor diffuser – producing more than 1000kg of downforce – keeps the vehicle planted at speed.
Active rear-wheel steering improves maneuverability at low speeds, and helps maintain stability.
An Alcantara and leather-cladded cabin is accessible via Koenigsegg’s unique dihedral synchro-helix doors, and features a digital cluster behind the steering wheel as well as a centrally-mounted infotainment screen.
Just 125 examples of the 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko are slated for production. All build slots have already been sold, with media estimates suggesting a starting price of approximately US$3 million ($4.1 million) before on-road and delivery costs.
