Bradley Walsh’s secret talent as he unveils custom-made Bond car on This Morning

Bradley Walsh stunned fans with his This Morning appearance on Wednesday’s show.

The actor and presenter appeared on ITV’s daytime series live from The Chase studio with his brand new James Bond inspired car.

Bradley explained the creation had taken three and a half years and “a lot of blood, sweat and tears” after he decided to create his own version of a classic 007 motor.

“We just took an Aston Martin DB9 and completely stripped it,” the 61-year-old explained as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby unveiled the Vantare GT.

The custom made six-litre Vantare does “just under 200mph” and Bradley says he and British Automotive Engineering have plans to make 10 more following feedback.

And while viewers at home were blown away by the creation, many were surprised to learn about the presenter’s history in engineering.

Holly said: “A lot of people won’t know this about you because it seems like a big stretch to suddenly go ‘oh I’m just going to build a car’, but that’s actually where you started, you started in engineering.”

“I did,” Bradley responded. “I was a Rolls Royce apprentice engineer and ended up going to their technical school up in Leavesden, that’s where I learnt to build helicopter engines.

“I was a helicopter engineer for five years and so my engineering background, and bit of design, that’s where it all comes from, that’s where my love of engineering comes from.”

He added: “And so we’ve ended up three and a half years ago looking to build a car for me, and that’s what you see now.

“Underneath it’s an Aston Martin six litre V12 DB9, that’s what it’s based on, but we stripped it back and put it all back together again with a new body, carbon fibre, the best engineers, the best coach builders I could find in Britain.”

“Is there nothing Bradley Walsh can’t do, he’s only made a car #ThisMorning,” wrote one ITV viewer.

While another added: “@thismorning omg Bradley Walsh that is a beautiful beautiful car well done.”
