2022 Ferrari Purosangue SUV renders appear online

The controversial high-riding performance car is expected to launch next year.

The 2022 Ferrari Purosangue has been rendered by Photoshop artist Giorgi Tedoradze, hinting at what the controversial high-performance SUV may eventually look like.

Tedoradze – who is not professionally associated with the Ferrari brand – imagines the high-riding Purosangue with sleek running lights on the nose, and an Aston Martin DBX-inspired rear.

A large diffuser at the back-end sits below an extroverted pair of mid-mounted exhaust pipes, while substantial air outlets grace the sides of the car.

Powertrain details are so far scarce, however multiple media outlets have reported the Purosangue will be fitted with a retuned variant of the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 currently offered in the entry-level GTC4Lusso.

In the ‘shooting brake’ wagon, this puts 449kW/760Nm to the ground via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Earlier this year a powertrain mule was spied testing in Maranello, Italy (shown below).

During an interview with international media at the 2019 Geneva motor show, Ferrari’s then-CEO Louis Camilleri said: “We announced that it would be unveiled in 2022, that hasn’t changed”. CarAdvice understands the Italian marque is still aiming for launch next year.

Ferrari has already confirmed the Purosangue will be sold in Australia, however local pricing and specs are yet to be confirmed.
