HOLMDEL, NJ – The Holmdel Township Police Department is investigating an attempted theft of a motor vehicle from a Delwood Drive driveway and the theft of a motor vehicle from Richards Way, both of which occurred Tuesday.

At around 5 p.m. on June 1, a Delwood Drive resident contacted the police department reporting that an unidentified male attempted to enter her vehicle, but was unsuccessful since it was locked. The subject then fled in a Silver Porsche Cayenne, Holmdel police wrote in a statement.

Later in the evening, the department received another call reporting a vehicle belonging to a township resident was driving “erratically” through Newark. Officers contacted the resident – who resides on Richards Way – and determined a 2021 Porsche 911 had been stolen from the residence between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The Holmdel Township Police Department reminds residents to lock their doors and keep vehicle keys and fobs secured. Anyone with information regarding either of the incidents may contact Holmdel police at (732) 946-4400.
