As mystery surrounds the condition of Michael Schumacher following a tragic skiing accident almost eight years ago, a former Ferrari boss has revealed he remains close with the stricken Formula One legend.
Speaking to Corriere della Serra, former Ferrari principal Jean Todt said he still sees Schumacher “at least twice a month” but did not disclose any details about the state of the seven-time champion’s health.
“I don’t leave him alone,” Todt told the Italian outlet. “Him, [wife] Corinna, the family – we’ve had so many experiences together. The beauty of what we have experienced is part of us and it goes on.”
Schumacher and Todt formed a partnership that saw the German driver win five of his seven world championships with Ferrari.
Little has been seen or revealed of Schumacher since a skiing accident in the French Alps back in December 2013 that reportedly left him with brain damage.
