Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani yesterday officially inaugurated iconic British car maker Lotus’s new showroom in Bahrain, operated by Adamas Bahrain Motors Company.
Located in the Moda Mall shopping complex, the showroom is the first in the world to display the new Lotus retail identity.
Taking centre stage at the inauguration was the Emira, which will be the last petrol-powered car from the iconic British car maker.
Orders for the Emira V6 First Edition, a high-spec flagship version set to arrive in the region next summer, are now being taken.
Fully loaded with a host of equipment plus unique badging, it comes at a price starting from BD31,500 and going up to BD40,000, including VAT.
The arrival of the Emira in Bahrain – only the third country in the world it has visited after the UK and the US – is part of a world tour, and sees it display at the all-new Lotus showroom for four days.
“With this investment in Bahrain and the regional debut for the new Lotus Emira, both Adamas Motors and Lotus Cars are signalling a clear intent to be major contributors in the region’s automotive landscape,” said Adamas Motors chief executive Karl Hamer.
Also attending the event were Bahrain International Circuit chief executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa and top officials from Lotus Cars.
