A couple of days ago, we told you Mercedes-Benz India will launch Mercedes-Mayback GLS 600 4Matic in the country next week. Well, folks, take out your calendars because we now have a date. Yep, the Stuttgart-based luxury carmaker will announce the new Maybach GLS 600’s price in India on 8 June. The launch is a part of the company’s vigorous efforts to attain a larger share of India’s luxury car market. But let us focus on the upcoming Maybach SUV in India for now; thus baby is among the most expensive cars in its global lineup. That shouldn’t be a surprise though, especially considering it is a Maybach car. The first SUV to bear the Maybach name will compete with cars such as the Bentley Bentayga, Aston-Martin DBX, and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. SUVs are truly a global favourite, aren’t they?

While it is based on the Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV, the upcoming SUV in India gets Maybach special treatment, including unique design tweaks along with a sumptuous list of top-of-the-class features. Most notable design elements include a huge Maybach-specific grille, mesh-type air dams encased in chrome, integrated chrome side sills with electrically extending running board, 22-inch or 23-inch alloy wheels.

Finally, the engine; Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is propelled by a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine that generates 550 bhp and 730 Nm of maximum torque. This engine is offered in combination with a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The car also gets a 48V hybrid system that offers an instant boost of 21 bhp and 250 Nm.
