A viral video of a police car lifted up by bollards after disastrous parking left viewers in stitches.
In the clip, recorded on Friday (October 8) at about 2.20 pm the stricken car is hoisted up by automatic bollards near Kirkgate Market in Leeds.
Onlookers have gathered around to laugh at the unlucky police officer’s mistake.
“What a d***head,” somebody laughs in the background.
Meanwhile, Saul Webster, the man filming, sounds like he is almost crying with laughter as he tries to keep the camera still.
Footage later shows the white Peugeot 308 being reversed after the bollards were lowered and it was released.
One viewer quipped: “You can’t park there sir.”
“And who is gonna give him a ticket?” joked somebody else.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A police vehicle was lifted by an automatic bollard while on patrol in Kirkgate in Leeds city centre at about 2.30 pm on Friday.
“The vehicle was recovered to be inspected for any damage.”
Any incidents involving police vehicles are subject to a review process.
This comes after a man had his Aston Martin covered with fish by angry people when he parked it across two spaces.
It turned out both spaces were reserved for fishermen which explained why he was the recipient of such smelly revenge.
And, in a separate heated incident, a driver’s ‘selfish’ parking was shamed by a sarcastic note and a kids’ colouring sheet.
It reads: “(can a pram fit through?) (can a wheelchair fit through?) Colour this in to help you learn how to stay in the lines. Park properly, d*******!”
