Rangers star Ianis Hagi’s girlfriend has been charged after allegedly driving the midfielder’s luxury Porsche and causing a four-car pile-up which left a teenager in hospital.

Elena Tanase, 22, is accused of getting behind the wheel of Hagi’s car and allegedly causing the motorway crash on Saturday night near the Dumbreck turn off on the M8 in Glasgow. 

In a statement to MailOnline, Police Scotland said officers were called to the scene of the crash and a woman was charged in connection with alleged road traffic offences.

She will be the subject of a report to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, Scotland’s prosecutors.

A force spokesman said: Around 9pm on Saturday, 21 August, 2021, police were called to a four vehicle road crash on the M8 near J23, eastbound.

‘One woman, aged 19 years, sustained injury as a result of the crash. She was due to attend hospital for treatment.

‘A 22-year-old woman was charged in connection with alleged road traffic offences and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.’
