Loris Spinelli and Richard Antinucci have claimed pole positions for Sunday’s pair of Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America races at Virginia International Raceway.

Spinelli, in the Pro-Am class No. 51 Taurino Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo, jumped to the top of the time sheets in Q1, thanks to a 1:45.994 lap time.

It edged out Antinucci, in the Pro class pole-sitting No. 27 Dream Racing Motorsport Lamborghini, by more than four-tenths.

Kyle Marcelli qualified third overall and second in class in the No. 1 Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing entry ahead of ANSA Motorsport’s Sergio Jimenez in fourth and Alec Udell fifth for Kelly-Moss Road & Race.

The 15-minute session came to an early end for an accident by the No. 13 ANSA Lamborghini of Nelson Piquet Jr., who as a result did not take part in Q2.

Antinucci’s 1:45.949 lap time in Q2 was good enough for the top spot in the session, 0.498 seconds ahead of the No. 6 O’Gara Motorsport/USRT entry of Jacob Eidson.

Stevan McAleer — driving solo this weekend — was third in the championship-leading Change Racing entry.

Pro-Am class pole for Race 2 went to the No. 46 Prestige Performance Motorsport Lamborghini of Bryan Oritz.

The No. 7 TR3 Racing entry of of Sandro Espinosa (Q1) and No. 23 Dream Lamborghini of Luke Berkeley (Q2) picked up top class pole honors in Am, while Michael Mennella (Q1) and Matt Dicken (Q2) were quickest in LB Cup.

Race 1 gets underway Sunday at 8 a.m. ET, with Race 2 set for the green flag at 4:35 p.m. ET. Both will be streamed live on IMSA.tv, Lamborghini.com and Trackpass on NBC Sports Gold.
