Few sports cars are as iconic as the Porsche 911 and one of its signature features is its rear-mounted flat-six engine. However, this particular 2000 911 Carrera Cabriolet currently up for sale through Cars & Bids is different than most, as you may have figured out by the cheeky license plate.

You see, it no longer has the flat-six that it left the factory with and is instead powered by a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated GM LQ4 V8. This engine is rated at 300 hp and 360 lb-ft (488 Nm) in standard guise but a plethora of modifications have been made to it.

For example, it features 5.3-liter cylinder heads, a Summit Stage 2 camshaft, double roller timing chain set, Melling high-volume oil pump, Lunati gold dual valve springs and retainers, a Fast 92 intake manifold, 90 mm throttle body, LS6 fuel injectors, aftermarket fuel rails, a Walboro fuel pump, and an LS3 oil pan. It also features a Renegade Hybrids flywheel and SPEC Stage+ clutch kit. The 911 is also rocking a 4-inch air intake with a K&N filter and a custom exhaust. Mated to the engine is a six-speed manual transmission.

Various other modifications have been made to the Porsche. For example, it features a full 996.2 911 Turbo front end conversion, 19-inch 997 alloy wheels, Yellow Speed Racing coilover suspension, electric power steering, and rocks a Pioneer double-DIN head unit.

The listing notes that the car was once powered by a 430 hp V8 and the new 6.0-liter V8 was only recently fitted. It remains unclear how many miles this engine and transmission have, but the chassis itself has been driven 144,100 miles (~231,900 km).
