Recently, the German driver spoke to AS newspaper about the Spaniard. According to Vettel, the 26-year-old driver deserves to be in the Ferrari. The two of them have risen up through the Red Bull Academy rankings and knew each other pretty well. So it wasn’t surprising that the Aston Martin driver had glowing reports about Sainz Jr.

He said, “Carlos deserves the steering wheel he has. I’ve known him for a long time, since he was very young, because he went through the Red Bull program. Now it seems like it’s been a long time since that, but it’s because he was really young when he arrived. He has incredible talent and he has also developed very well as a pilot, so I think it is a great opportunity for him and I am very happy for Carlos.”
